Look Out Mickey, Here We Come...Again!

Can you believe it? We are heading to the world of Disney again, but this time Disneyland in California! We never expected to go again so soon, but Daddy has a conference in Anaheim this summer and Mommy and I sure couldn't let him go there without us! So while he's busy learning stuff, we'll be enjoying the parks! Today starts our countdown and Mommy made this really cool calendar for it. Each night before bed, I get to pick out a colored Mickey head and stick it on the calendar, and when it's all filled up it'll be time to go! We are also going to hit Knotts Berry Farm while we are there since I love Snoopy and the gang. I'm so excited!!!!!

Bathtime Antics

Jools may not like baths when she is the one being washed, but she sure like my baths! She stays right against the tub wagging her tail the entire time and licks any water that comes near her. (And that's a lot because I'm a kid and I splash every now and then...smirk!) Sometimes I even let her drink out of the cup! Even though she has water in the kitchen, she laps up every drop!

We took her back to the vet today to get her next series of shots and she has grown from 15 to 24 pounds in the 3 weeks that we've had her! Holy cow, she's gonna be a BIG girl!

Awesome Ashley!

This is my latest speech teacher, Miss Ashley. Today was my last day with her and I'm really going to miss her. She did such a great job helping me get better with my k- and g- words, and it sure paid off! I've still got a little way to go yet, but I'm thisclose! During my first few sessions with Ashley, she kept calling me by the nickname "Bud". I wasn't too keen on that and I made a point of reminding her each time that my name was Joey. When Mommy told Grandpa Jim about it, he started calling me "Bud" too! Well, I'm sure you can imagine what I thought of that! Luckily it was short-lived for both of them and life was much simpler after that.

Mommy liked Ashley a lot too. She even talked with her about maybe babysitting for me in the fall when she comes back to school! I sure hope it works out because I'd love to hang out with her again and show her all my cool stuff!

Thank you Ashley for a great semester! And I love the car you gave me...go car, go!

Our First Week with Jools

(Sorry this picture is blurry, but Jools won't hold still! I think it's really silly and wanted to share.)

It's been a whole week since Jools entered our lives and she has become quite a handful! She tricked us the first few days while she was quiet and well behaved, because now she is a wild woman! We (well, Mommy and Daddy) have been cleaning up accidents in the house several times a day. We are constantly telling her to stop chewing things or to stop jumping. We also discovered that when she went under the bed, she was chewing on the thin lining on the bottom of the boxspring and coming back out with all this fuzz hanging out of her mouth! (And there were some accidents under there too...yuck!) Taking her outside to go potty is also a challenge because she gets so distracted by me running around and doesn't pay attention to the fact that she is supposed to be taking care of business! I've grown a little intimitated by her since she started jumping and I back away when she comes near me, but I'm working on that.

All of that said, she has been a ton of fun too. She loves to chase tennis balls and her tail, she wakes me up with kisses, and she barks at her own reflection in the fireplace doors. She goes into her crate without any trouble, and she is even learning to sit on command! I think it's pretty neat that she follows us around all the time just to be with us as much as she can. I got really sick the day after we brought her home and she stayed right by me the whole time I was camped out on the couch. Man's best friend, indeed. I love having a dog now! What more can you ask for in life than this?
