More Library Fun

This week, we had two events at the library that I really enjoyed. The first was a juggler, and he did a 30 minute show where he did silly things like balancing a full-size ladder on his chin, riding a unicycle with one of the kids on his shoulders, making shapes out of balloons (though I didn't get one, rats!), and juggling pretty much anything under the sun! Then he did 30 minutes of teaching us all how to juggle too. We used scarfs since they are slow and the easiest things to catch. I just had fun throwing them in the air and hoping they would land on my head, but Mommy actually had success! Trust me, I was just as amazed as she was.

The next event was called "Play With Your Food", and as you can see from the picture I had no trouble with that concept. We had 5 stations to visit:
  1. Table 1 was a pretzel rod, a long skinny licorice, cream cheese, and goldfish crackers to make a fishing pole. This was my favorite, hence the picture.
  2. Table 2 was cupcakes with white frosting, coconut, and marshmallows to make a bunny face. I pretty much just ate the frosting and marshmallows and moved on.
  3. Table 3 was two vanilla wafers, a mint cookie, coconut with green food coloring, and yellow frosting to make a hamburger cookie. This was a little tricky since there were so many layers to deal with, but it still tasted good!
  4. Table 4 was a celery stick, cream cheese, and raisins to make ants on a log. Raisins and celery are not my favorites so I didn't spend much time there.
  5. Finally Table 5 was another cupcake with white frosting, green coconut, and jelly beans to make a birds nest.

Pretty clever, huh? The whole event was really yummy and I had a great time! Have I mentioned lately how much I love our library?

Construction Heaven (Or Hell?)

Depends on who you ask! Remember that bridge at our exit off the highway? Well this is a picture of where it USED to be! They had planned to tear it down and rebuild it while still allowing one lane of traffic on it, but they had a teeny tiny little problem last weekend that left it permanently closed. It was deemed unsafe and they demolished the WHOLE THING! It looks so weird! So instead of a minor irritation for the next few months, it has become a major inconvenience. Daddy can still get to work ok but he has to take a different (and longer) route home, and Mommy and I used the bridge all the time so she pretty much has to do everything by going out of her way - that means leaving the house earlier and getting me to stop dawdling so much! Yea right, that'll happen! The plus in all of this is that through July we can go watch the action up close like we did tonight!

I Love a Parade!

It's St. Patrick's Day and we're celebrating downtown! We got there early to get a good spot and here I am waiting anxiously for the parade to come my way. It was pretty cold so we had to be bundled up and you can't see that I actually am wearing green. Mommy said the parade was pretty dull...nothing more than a bunch of people dressed in silly green outfits throwing candy. But I say what's wrong with that? Sounds like a party to me! Too bad there's milk in my cup instead of green beer.
(On a side note, this is the first picture taken with Mommy's cool new camera phone! I know, she's way behind the times but what can you do?)

O-Jo Camel

(Mommy is at the keyboard for this entry)

No, this picture is not what it appears! Our after dinner desserts one night were those yummy chocolate wafer rolls. O-Jo was being his usual silly self and he naturally started eating his like this. See the flaky crumbs on his fingers and shirt? Neither Daddy nor I smoke so he didn't pick this up from us...TV, maybe? Hmmmm. How much do you think Philip Morris would give us for O-Jo being their next poster child?
