Traverse City
The day after the reunion we hung out in the beautiful Traverse City area to see some of the sites. The first place we went was the downtown zoo. There wasn't a lot to it, but it was pretty neat since it was my first chance to see animals.

After the zoo we meandered over to the beach where I got to experience my first Great Lake.

Wading in Grand Traverse Bay
Of course, even though it was summertime, I still wasn't prepared for just how cold it was.

Lake Michigan is Cold!
After going back to the hotel for a light lunch and nap we drove out to Sleeping Bear Dunes. I wanted to go down to the lake again in the safety of my stroller but we decided to stay at the top and look at the scenery...

Family Reunion

Mom's family reunion was held in Traverse City this summer (there's usually a winter one, too, and the locations change a lot). It was a fantastic house with tons of things to run around and see.
Here we are all listening to several people giving different instructions on how we should take a picture. As usual, Dad didn't listen to anyone and took a picture anyway.

Dinglehopper?

Do I comb my hair or eat with it?
A wise old seagull (who sounded an awful lot like Buddy Hackett) once told me that this gizmo was called a dinglehopper. Word of mouth is that it's for combing one's hair, but my folks keep giving it to me at the same time they put food on my tray. But what would know better than a seagull? Perplexed, I turned to that great Foundation of knowledge: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page
Could you believe it - there was no entry on "dinglehopper" there! Alas, I may have to continue to use it to eat food, at least until my unsuspecting parents turn their backs long enough for me to try it out on my hair. I just need to remember to comb before eating cottage cheese.
