Lowe's and their Brilliant Future-Customer Marketing Strategy

How cool is this? Mommy recently found out that every couple of weeks, Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores offers workshops for kids. For no charge, we get to build a project with a real hammer & nails, get a badge and certificate of completion, and we get to keep the apron & safety goggles! So far I have made a coin bank, a Valentine’s Mailbox, and a Racecar! Since I’m such a Bob the Builder/Construction fan, it sure doesn’t get much better than this!

Play-Doh

Grandma Elaine gave me a bunch of Play-Doh colors for Christmas and I am having a lot of fun making a mess with them! My favorite thing to do is empty all the containers and then go and play with something else. After this caused endless frustration for Mommy, she finally got smart and gave me all of her cookie cutters. Now we can make shapes like a dinosaur, a fire truck, and all the letters of the alphabet! I tend to pull the head off the dinosaur though, but I think that makes him even scarier!

Resolutions

So last year, my resolutions were to start talking and get potty trained. To update everyone, I’m doing great on both counts.

I am speaking in fairly consistent 3-word sentences now, with an occasional 4- or 5-word thrown in for everyone’s excitement. We’re still working on pronunciation, but that’ll come in time. I have speech classes a couple of times per week and I really like my teachers, Karla and Laura. They let me play with all kinds of neat games and I forget that I’m actually learning something in the process!

For the most part, I enjoy going to the potty. I’m trying really hard to tell Mommy before I have to go, but it’s pretty tough. She started using the M&M technique and that seems to be improving things. I get one for each pee-pee and two for each poop, so my addition skills are benefiting too! I like to finish all of one color before moving on to another.

My goals for 2007 are to continue the momentum in both areas. Maybe we’ll also work on sharing a little bit too. That’s really not very fun, so I have to give that some more thought before committing to it.

Welcome to a Google-eyed World

Today I embraced change and migrated my blog to the non-Beta world of blogspot as run by
that omnipresent, benign (?) Google-opoly.

So far I'm not too impressed.
