I'm a MAN Now!

Would you believe that I'm not quite 4 years old and I've already attended my first bachelor party? Uncle Karl (the one on the right, Uncle Augie is on the left) is marrying "Aunt" Cindi next month and everyone went to a Cubs game to celebrate! I won't mention how Daddy miscalculated how far the stadium was from where he parked, but I will say that we had to walk TWO miles!)

Us guys had seats pretty much behind home plate. We were far enough back that the upper level blocked our view of the scoreboard...which of course is where Mommy and the ladies were!

This was Mommy's view of the game. This shot is of the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th, but unfortunately they weren't able to get a grand slam. How awesome would that have been? (Apparently the girls made Cindi dress up quite funny but Mommy wouldn't let me post a picture here.)

My favorite player, Kosuke Fukudome. I have so much fun saying his name!
Fuuuuuuuu-ku-doe-mayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Mommy was smart and packed my binoculars so that she could try to see us. Daddy and I had to walk nearly all the way down to get out from under the awning, but it worked...she saw us! Too bad we couldn't pick her out of the hot and sweaty bleacher crowd.

Cool, it was bat day! This, along with my three pretzels, three diet cokes, 2 cotton candies, and hot dog made for a terrific day!

And the Cubs winning was the best part!
Final score: Chicago Cubs 5 Colorado Rockies 4

The World of Jo-Jo

Josiah and Joey - best buddies!

Here we are at storytime at Barnes & Noble. Sharing a chair, hugging some stuffed animals, and eating suckers - I can't think of a better way to spend an evening!

My First Emergency Room Visit

Yeeeeeooooouuuuuccccchhhhh!!!!! This afternoon I slipped on the wood floor in the living room and somehow managed to bite through both of my lips. Of course Mommy had just stepped out of the room when it happened, and since it's all somewhat of a blur to me, we don't know how it actually happened. Once she got all the blood cleared out of the way and could assess the damage, she knew I needed to see a doctor right away. (Don't these things always happen when the regular doctor's office is closed? But I digress.) So, off we went in my now ruined, favorite sweatpants. Here I am in the waiting room with my nifty little bracelet, still sucking on the ice teether that we've kept around since I was a baby for just such an occasion.

After the nurse gave me the once over, she let me play with the thermometer machine while we waited for the doctor. I thought it was pretty darn cool! When I touched one of the plastic covers and put it back in the box, the nurse said that I could play with all of them now since she didn't know which one it was and would have to throw them all away. So if you've ever wondered why healthcare is so expensive...it's because of kids like me!

Still waiting, but who's complaining?

Back home and no stitches, woo hoo! You can see the mark on my bottom lip, but it's the inside of the top one that is really bad. Mommy is going to have to make me some soft stuff to eat like jello and pudding. Hmmm, I bet I could get some ice cream too...this may not be so bad afterall!
