Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Shots

Oh the humanity!

Well, today was my two month checkup (that's right, I'll be 8 weeks old tomorrow!).

I am now 25 and a quarter inches tall and 12 pounds 8 ounces.

As you can tell from my cool-ass Snoopy band-aids I got a couple of immunizations today. One of the shots was a 3-in-one. Why can't they put all 5 shots in one? I was actually pretty good; at least, I calmed down fast.  Next time, though, their gonna have to trick me to get me in the car!

Look, there in the sky! Is it a building or is it a pineapple?!

As an admirer of innovative ideas and architecture, I will from time to time beg your indulgence and share with you some challenging images. Be prepared!

Is it a glass pineapple?

My mom and dad visited London in the summer of 2002 and completely missed the construction of this building. Dad kept griping about all the *&%! cranes around the area, but never went to see what all the fuss was about! Well, here it is, in all its glory: 30 St. Mary Axe. I guess the street was named after a long-lost church that had contained an axe that Attila and the huns used to sacrifice thousands of virgins in the 5th Century. It's quite an engineering marvel. Note The Tower of London just to its right in the skyline picture.

My First This, My First That…Blah, Blah, Blah

Baby Buddha

My list of accomplishments continued to grow this week, and I must admit that I am beginning to get a little bored by my excellence.  But as long as Mommy and Daddy are excited about it, I suppose it can’t hurt to humor them.  Mommy took me to meet the Pohl relatives in Ohio and it was the first time I had left the state of Michigan, venturing not only into Ohio, but also Indiana briefly.  Grandma was excited because it was the first time I’ve stayed overnight with her, and I even got to do it twice!  My first experience in a hotel was quite embarrassing…would you believe they made me sleep in a dresser drawer?  Mommy was happy that I didn’t let it disrupt my sleeping routine though.  Despite the chilly weather, a few people braved the swimming pool at Great Uncle Pete’s house, so I donned my swim trunks and showed them how to do a proper cannonball.  The scariest moments of the weekend had to be when my cousins Morgan, Kyra, and Madison all laid a lip on me.  Mommy insists they don’t have cooties, but I’m not so sure.

Float like a Butterfly

You may be waiting for the right jab, but quicker than you can blink here comes my left uppercut!

My left's so fast, you'll miss it in a blink,
My right's so strong, it's like the kitchen sink,
For even this blog I am too cool,
Watch out there, I just clocked you, fool!

With a Little Help from My Friends

My name is O Jo & I am a blogger.

I would like to formally recognize my new blog-buddy Karthik, The Mottai Boss. Karthik has shared a couple of interesting MBA classes with my dad. Maybe one day he will tell me all about how annoying my dad can be in school! He has added me to his site, so that word of my ascendancy to this interesting globe of bloggers will be spread. So once again I'd like to shout out and represent my new friends from India!! http://themottaiboss.blogspot.com

Smile or Smirk?

Guess what I just did!

Things are going pretty well. I'm starting to laugh at my own farts so my college days must be fast approaching. Today I got to study Capital Budgeting with dad while mom went to the store. I didn't care too much for the subject - not enough calculus for proper cash flow projections. But we got to listen to the new Cowboy Junkies cd which was pretty cool (the Canadian postal service finally came through! - dad's a lot happier now).
I am getting ready for my first big trip - to a family reunion in Ohio. Although being in Buckeye/Nittany Lion territory will be unpleasant, I can soon look forward to Badger games and U.P. trips.
A big shout out to all my new homeys at WMU!

Wow, I'm one month old!

One Month Old!

Even though I was four weeks old two days earlier, my one month old birthday was Friday July 2nd. I am still going strong, sleeping here and there, but mostly hiccuping (or is it hiccoughing?)
Do I really have to wait 'til I am one year old to get presents?
